Rimba Jabaran Hotel

Take a look at the fantastic wall treatment found in the lobby of the Rimba Jabaran Hotel in Bali! Turns out that their designers could also not resist turning the colourful wooden boats into a gorgeous modern look

Named after the Indonesian word for “forest”, Rimba Jimbaran Bali Resort takes an admirable stance on sustainability. According to their website, their design concept is “edgy and innovative, with a commitment to sustainability.”

Their attachment to reclaimed wood extends beyond using colorful fishing boats; they also fabricate amazing pieces of furniture and decor using drift wood and packing crates!

We love the many ways the Rimba has put the earth first:

  • Resort Lobby made of recycled wood from three old fishing boats that were personally sourced by RIMBA’s engineers in Sulawesi, and driftwood which they helped to gather by hand along a 1-mile stretch of beach while sourcing the boats;
  • Rainwater harvesting and water recycling plant
  • Natural light is maximized in rooms and public spaces, in features such as a sky-light running from the Lobby to To’ge restaurant on the ground floor;
  • Walls made from handmade bricks;
  • Furniture made from recycled packing crates and other materials;
  • UNIQUE roof-top bar featuring recycled glass bottles;
  • On-site greenhouse and organic fruit garden;
  • Eco amenities in all guest rooms, such as bathroom amenities made of recycled glass, and beach bags made of recycled materials.

Here are some detail shots of the gorgeous walls to give you a sense of the wonderful colour and texture that we love so much!
